The VEC conducts research and also commissions suitable external agents to produce reports on electoral issues as they arise.
The Maps and geographic information page allows you to access detailed maps of every state district, region and local council. The VEC also maintains an interactive map of Victoria and provides spatial data downloads that can be used with a variety of mapping software.

The duties of the VEC are defined by several pieces of legislation, including the Constitution Act 1975, Electoral Act 2002, Local Government Act 1989 and Infringements Act 2006. All legislation that governs how the VEC operates can be accessed on the Legislation page.
