All About Voting

All About Voting is a resource kit developed in partnership with the AMES (external link). The kit aims to promote active citizenship and democratic participation amongst culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in Victoria.

"The students really enjoyed it. The PowerPoint presentation got lots of positive comments."
Teacher, Werribee AMES

All About Voting includes a PowerPoint slide show, with supporting teacher guide and student activities that introduce learners to Sung, who has recently become an Australian citizen. Materials have been designed to suit lower level learners of English.

Learners will practise language skills including reading, listening comprehension and vocabulary as they follow Sung's enrolment, learn about what it means to live in a representative democracy, and watch Sung vote in her first election.

The All About Voting Resource Kit is available from our education resources page.
